Louis Chenevert is a popular businessman who hails from Quebec, Canada. Mr. Chenevert served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of United Technologies Corporation. Louis was also the President of Canada’s Pratt & Whitney Company. In 1999, Louis was elected president of Pratt & Whitney. In March 2006, he was elected as the Chief Operating Officer and President of UTC. However, Mr. Chenevert stepped down as UTC’s Chief Executive Officer on December 8, 2014, and was replaced by Edward Kangas.

Louis holds a bachelor of commerce degree in production management from HEC Montréal, which is an affiliated Business School of the University of Montreal. James Dondero’s Gift To The Victims Of Domestic Violence

Highland Capital Management’s co-founder and president, James Dondero, announced that their business would be donating a challenge grant amount to $1 million. This move is highly regarded as a response to the pleading of The Family Place for support to the campaign they launched called the Legacy Campaign. The Family Place is the leading organization in Dallas that takes care of domestic violence victims, and their target fund is only $2.8 million short. The grant is being administered through the company’s philanthropic arm, called the Highland Dallas Foundation, Inc.

 

James Dondero explained that the grant is their response to the calls of the city mayor and the police chief officer to put an end to life-threatening issues surrounding Dallas. He believes that the civic community in the city is adept in making things done, and appealed to everyone to extend their help in older for The Family Place to achieve their goal. One of the assistance that the organization is receiving is the fact that a new counseling center in Dallas is being considered upon by the officials. Its design is believed to have 13 emergency shelter rooms, a clinic, a call center, multiple counseling rooms and multipurpose spaces that can be used for leisure. Over two thousand affected being are expected to visit the future facility once it has been opened to the public.

 

The Family Place could not hide their excitement with what is presently going on. They cannot thank James Dondero enough for his generosity, aiming to help the organization in achieving their goals. James Dondero is no stranger to The Family Place, as it is Texas’ biggest family violence service provider. They are working all day and all night to eliminate any form of domestic violence. Since their inception in 1978, hundreds of thousands of people from around the United States of America has visited their office or contacted their counselor just for the sake of receiving a counseling session. They offered information not just to the mothers and their children, but also to the batterers, and made them realize how bad it is to be involved in domestic violence. James Dondero is hoping that with his company’s help, the issue on battered housewives and children would soon come to an end.

Eric Pulier Proving that Technology is an Effective Tool in Meeting People’s

Needs

From a young age, Eric Pulier’s skills in computer programming were unquestionable. In fact, so talented was the young man that he was already writing computer programs while still in elementary school. While in high school Eric Pulier started his first database programming company. After high school, however, Pulier would on to pursue a degree in English and American Literature at Harvard. While at the University, Pulier became an editor and columnist of the Harvard Crimson magazine. On the side, he took courses at the MIT. In 1988, Pulier graduated from Harvard with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and American Literature. From this time onwards he would pursue his lifetime passion for technology.

 

Three years after graduating from Harvard, Pulier founded People Doing Things, a firm that focused on using technology to provide educational, health, and other day-to-day solutions. He went on to create another technology company: Digital evolution. Now an already a successful entrepreneur, Pulier turned his attention to assist ailing children in using technology to alleviate their suffering.

 

In 1994, he created Starbright Works, an online platform that brought together kids with chronic illness and gave them an avenue to share their experiences with each other and the world as a whole. The children did so through chats and blog posts. In doing so, Pulier demonstrated how technology could be applied to mitigate suffering and bring people together.

 

Over the years, Eric Pulier has actively participated in numerous talks and workshops around the world dedicated to the use of technology to solve people’s health problems. He was part of the team that ran the 1997 Presidential Technology Exhibition in Washington DC. His insight has been helpful in different technology and health forums held around the world.
