Eric Pulier a Technological Innovator for the People

Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Amazon…these are all innovators that leverage the power of technology to make our lives more convenient and entertaining. Eric Pulier also believes in the universal impact technology can make but his focus has always been about helping humanity. His passion for computers began early on when he started programming in the fourth grade in the classrooms of Teaneck, New Jersey all the way to high school where he created his first Database Software Company. Eric’s technical prowess would lead him to Harvard University and also classes at nearby MIT in 1984 before graduating magna cum laude in 1988. However amazing his academic accomplishments have been so far, it would be his entrepreneurial pursuits that would leave a lasting mark on the world.

People before Profits

His journey in service would come about in 1991 when he moved to Los Angeles and founded People Doing Things (PDT) a company focused on tackling the education, health care and other social needs through the use of technology. Starbright World was in a similar focus of service as it was a private social network for chronically ill children to chat, connect and interact in a community of support. The Painted Turtle was later developed providing a summer camp for children with chronic illness to enjoy.

Besides Eric’s mission of improving lives, he has also gained a reputation for enormous success in the corporate arena. He has co-founded a variety of companies such as ServiceMesh, SOA Software, Interactive Video Technology and also served as an advisory role in both Al Gore’s technology task force to Clinton’s Global Initiative. Throughout these endeavors, his talent for technological progress has never waned.

Philanthrophic Ventures

Eric’s most ambitious and visible investment in philanthropy would have to be the X-Prize Foundation where he serves as a member of the innovation board. The foundation’s purpose is to tackle the world’s most challenging problems by creating competitions where teams worldwide can collaborate in solving these complex issues and also earn prizes for their ground-breaking ideas.

Perhaps the X-Prize Foundation best represents what Eric Pulier is all about where innovation, technology, and success are all combined in one remarkable place.
